Federal Public Housing

The Federal Public Housing Program provides safe and decent rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Local public housing agencies, such as the Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA), oversee these housing units and ensure that they are affordable for residents. In Hawaii, the HPHA manages 5,406 federal public housing units across the state.
