State of Hawai`i Housing

The Hawaii Public Housing Authority operates State Family and State Elderly public housing programs, which are separate from the federal public housing program. The State Family public housing is available to individuals of any age who meet the qualifications, while the State Elderly public housing is specifically for individuals aged 62 and older. These programs are funded solely by the state, with no federal subsidies involved, and manage a total of 864 units statewide.
